In the meantime, meet three of our 2017/2018 Frankfurt scholars:

Maryna Zubko

Before coming to Frankfurt to perfect her technique, Maryna studied at the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kiev and gained her Bachelor’s degree in German Studies from the University of Kiev. She has played Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Violetta (La Traviata) and Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor) in German and Ukrainian productions and was awarded the first prize in the international Neustadt singing competition.  Since 2018 Maryna has been engaged as soprano in the soloist ensemble of Theater Ulm.
Jolana Slavikova

Jolana is a scholar of the Czech Culture Ministry and the recipient of a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) prize for her excellent academic performances. In 2016 she sang at the Staatstheater in Darmstadt (Destino in Cavalli’s “La Calisto”), at the Frankfurt Opera in a production of Figaro for children and played Karolka in Janáček’s “Její Pastorkyňa” at the Theatre Liberec. During her studies Jolana also found time to engage in different community projects in the Czech Republic.  She is currently a guest soloist at the Theater Erfurt.
Ye Eun Choi

After completing her studies at the Korean National University of Art and at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, Ye Eun has appeared on stage at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt with Mozart’s “Der Hölle Rache” and Verdi’s “Caro nome che il mio cor”. At the Rheingau Musik Festival she interpreted Silvia in Haydn’s “L’Isola Disabitata”, in 2016/2017 she was a member of the OperAvenir Ensemble at the Theatre of Basel.
