Irina Bogdanova

Vocal register: Soprano
Irina is a young Russian Soprano who obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in 2018 from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. She is continuing her Master studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. Irina has played Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. She also performed as Mutter in Samuel Hogarth’s Zwerg Nase at the Staatsoper Hamburg and most recently Pamina in Die Kleine Zauberflöte, a production of the Theater Kiel. She has also appeared in the Vier-Länder Concert at the Elbphilarmonie Hamburg. Irina won various international awards and prizes: the 2019 Grand Prix of the Triumphe de l’Art competition, the 2019 Giovanni-Turcotti prize, the first prize at 2019 the Gustav-Mahler Competition, the first prize of 2018 Mozart Competition and the 2019 Salice D’Oro Competition. Irina wasa scholarship recipient of the Berenberg Kulturstiftung, the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V. and the Johannes-Brahms-Stiftung Hamburg.

Julia Debrowska

Vocal register: Lyric Soprano
Before coming to Berlin to study under Prof. Thomas Quastoff, the young Canadian lyric soprano Julia Dębowska completed her pre-college studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada. Julia has received multiple international awards and recognitions: she is the winner of, among others, the Canadian Vocal Competition and the IV. Giulio Perotti International Voice Competition. She has performed twice in Carnegie Hall, and in October 2020, she will make her debut as Barbarina in “Le Nozze di Figaro” as part of the Hanns Eisler Hochschulproduktion. Julia is a former recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium. As a polyglot, she speaks English, German, French, and Polish fluently, and is currently learning Italian and Hungarian.

Daesoon Kim

Vocal register: Baritone
The South-Korean Baritone Daesoon Kim completed his pre-college studies under Prof. Seokbe and gained a Bachelor Degree at the Daegu Keimung University in South-Korea. He has played Papageno in the 2016 Daegu-Operahaus production of Die Zauberflöte. He has also played Guglielmo in Così fan Tutte and Schaunard in La Bohème.

The young Tenor Kiduck graduated from the Hanyang University with a Bachelor in Music. He has played Don Cruzio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Alfredo in La Traviata, Nemorino in L’Elisir D’Amore, Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi and is set to play Tamino in Die Zauberflöte.

Sonja Isabel Reuter

Vocal register: Soprano
Sonja began her vocal studies at Dr. Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt, before gaining a Bachelor Studies in Voice/Music-Theatre from the Academy of Music Franz Liszt Weimar. Sonja performed in various opera productions, concerts and Lied recitals. In 2019, the young soprano played Rosalinde (“Die Fledermaus”) at the Theater im Delphi in Berlin. In 2020, she reprised the same role for the Heimathafen Neukölln production of the Strauss operetta. Since 2017, Sonja has regularly appeared as a guest member of the Weimar DNT German National Theatre choir, participating in the production of Otello (G.Verdi) and Le Nozze di Figaro, in which she sang the choir solo “Amanti constanti”. Sonja was awarded a scholarship by the Bernt-Rohrer Foundation, as well as a young musician prize awarded by the Richard-Wagner Association. From April 2019 to March 2020. Sonja has received a scholarship of the Oscar und Vera Ritter-Stiftung.

The young soprano Serena Sáenz graduated with honours from the Conservatori of Liceu and the Hochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin. At the beginning of the 2018/2019 theatre season, she joined the Young Artists Programme at the Staatsoper Berlin. where she made her debut as Pamina in The Magic Flute directed by Alondra de la Parra. Serena also played Taumännchen in Hänsel und Gretel; Contessa Ceprano in Rigoletto, and Eine Hirtin in the baroque opera Hippolyte et Aricie directed by Simon Rattle. This season she has debuted as Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Pablo Heras-Casado as director; Frasquita in Carmen together with Anita Rachvelishvili in the title role and the Waldvögel in Siegfried both operas directed by Daniel Barenboim. She also made her debut in the Pierre Boulez-Saal with a Scarlatti programme conducted by Ottavio Dantone and his baroque orchestra Accademia Bizantina. Past engagements have been Papagena in Die Zauberflöte; Clarice in Haydn Il Mondo della Luna; Isabella in Rossini’s L’Ingano Felice and the soprano soloist of Carmina Burana at the Palau de la Música Catalana under the direction of Simon Halsey. Other appearances have included Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel at the Opernakademie Wiekersheim; Alice in Le Comte Ory and Chiara in Il Conte di Marsico, both at the Rossini in Wildbad Festival; Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Orfeó Catalá; Adina in L’Elisir d’amore and La Comtesse Adéle in Le Comte Ory, both at the Teatro Sarrià, Barcelona. In January 2018, Serena received four awards at the Viñas International Singing Competition in Barcelona, including the Mozart Prize and the Accademia Chigiana di Siena Prize. Other awards have included the International Gesangswettbewerb ‘Ferruccio Tagliavini’ in Austria and the Concours International de Chant in Mâcon, France.

The South-Korean Tenor Ryan Simin Kim graduated from Yonsei University in 2016 with a Bachelor Degree in Classic Vocal Studies. In the same year, he also took part in the Masterclass organised by the Staatsoper Hannover. He is currently pursuing a MA at the HfMDK in Frankfurt. He is set to perform as Nemorino in the Korean National Opera production of L’Elisir d’Amore.

Aida Telhine

Vocal register: Soprano
The young soprano Aïda Telhine began her lyrical singing training in Paris. In 2017, Aïda interpreted the role of High Priestess with the Note et Bien Choir and Orchestra directed by Romain Dumas. In 2018 and 2019, she sung as soloist for the Chœur Saint-Germain-des-Prés at concerts in Trouville and Paris. She is currently enrolled as a Bachelor Student under Prof. Ewa Wolak at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.

Sahin Mert Ustay

Vocal register: Tenor
The Tenor Şahin Mert Üstay studied at the Başkent University State Conservatory in Turkey, from which he graduated in 2015 as the highest ranking student. He performed in various Turkish, German, and Czech productions with the Turksoy Youth Chamber Choir. In 2018, Mert enrolled in a Bachelor Degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler.
